Mindful Eating
The movement toward "mindful eating," reported in today's New York Times, means to reinforce the connection between the mind and the body by way of intentionality. As one becomes more and more aware of what one eats one (should) become(s) more and more aware of how one eats (and that one is eating). A similar argument is made in terms of keeping kosher; kashrut forces kavannah. Do you agree with such a connection? Disagree? Why?
